Details & FAQ

Welcome the first Brianne Freeride! As Vandem Freeride is not going ahead this year due to the condition of the road we thought we would do something similar in Wales.
The Event:
Date: 30-31 August
Location: Check the location tab
Cost: £65

What you get:

  • Closed road in some awesome scenery: up to 40mph, with good tarmac the whole length of the hill. Remember to stop before the cattle grid! (uphill at the end of the course)
  • Trackside camping (TBC) if there is not camping on the site we shall arrange camping just down the road with the local campsite. This cost will be covered so there is no need to worry about where you stay.
  • Bales to crash into
  • Food (exact details TBC) So far the plan is something like you have your saturday evening meal provided ( BBQ ) and we will buy 2 marquees to house everyone in case the weather turns. On sunday we will provided one Meal (Breakfast or Dinner) again. Watch this space for announcements on whether to bring bacon or burgers.
  • Toilets that you don't have to share with the sheep!
  • Luge/inline friendly event - the more the merrier!
  • Uplifts for the racing (If it all goes well, there may be more uplifts next year!) Running Uplifts is really expensive and the problem is we dont have a separate route up the hill so there is little point opening and closing the hill every 10 minutes. the walk up isnt too bad and it gives you a chance to speak lots of other riders from all around the country.
  • Hog Hill racing format (for those who want it) on the Sunday afternoon (registration necessary to race).
    Categories include:
    - Open
    - Under 16
    - Women's if there's enough intertest
    - Luge allcomers
    - Welsh Championships
  • Welsh Racing championships (WRC) . If you Live in Wales  then you have the chance to participate in the WRC. This is being Run by Sion Hughes who will arrange the races and there will be Good prizes and the title of King of wales to be won!
  • A chance to socialise all day and in the evening.
